Our Goal
Our goal at the City of Sheridan Wastewater Treatment Plant is to continue to exceed state and regional wastewater treatment standards and to continuously produce the highest quality of effluent wastewater.
Overview of Wastewater Treatment
- 4.4 Million Gallons Per Day Facility
- Activated Sludge process
- Average summer time flows 3.0 MGD
- Average winter time flows 1.8 MGD
- Treated Effluent water is discharged to Big Goose Creek
- Plant process is monitored daily utilizing modern lab techniques performed on site
- Plant Effluent discharge is regulated by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
- The wastewater treatment plant is a very large mechanical system and the majority of all repair and maintenance duties are performed by plant personnel.
- Treated Sludge is removed form process by a dewatering system then transported to the City Landfill for composing
- Newly constructed grease treatment facility
- County septic tanks a cleaned by local hauler and delivered to the plant for treatment

- Evaluation of wastewater treatment plant headworks, septage receiving, and grease problems.
- Developing a Pretreatment Program.
- 2006 start of Wastewater Treatment plant Headworks Expansion and Improvements project (Infrastructure)
