Can I get a copy of water and sewer drawings for a certain address?
Yes, these are located in the office on the 3rd floor as hard copies.

Can I get a inspection for my water and sewer service lines that were installed?
Yes.  You have to set up the appointment with the Building Department.  She will then put it on our schedule.  You have to set up the appointment a minimum 8 hours in advance of the inspection.

I want to develop land that I own, is water and sewer available?
Please contact the Planning Department and be asked to put on the DRC agenda.  All departments will be represented to answer any of your develop needs.

I received a notice from the city that my backflow device needs tested.  Why?  I just installed it last year and it was tested then.
Per the Uniform Plumbing Code and City ordinance 1946 backflow assemblies are to be tested upon installation and annually thereafter.

I will be installing water and sewer soon for a project, is there any thing that is required?
Yes.  To excavate or install utilities you have to be licensed with the City of Sheridan.  For water services the City will make the tap. For sewer services, a licensed master plumber must do the tap.

I want to be licensed with the City to install services, what do I need to do?
If all you want to do is excavate, then you will need to take a excavator's test.  If you want to install pipe also, you will have to take a utility contractor's test.  These tests are administered from the Utility Service office.

I am looking for the depth of a sewer main for a certain area of town, where can I find that information?
We have all the City water and sewer as-built drawings in the office.

Do I need a grease interceptor for a café I am looking to build?
Yes.  A commercial kitchen will have to have an outside grease interceptor per the Uniform Plumbing Code.

I am building a commercial shop; do I have to put in floor drains?
If the building code requires a floor drain, we will require a sand/oil interceptor on all commercial buildings.
