Frequently Asked Questions
When are you going to fix potholes and/or Utility cuts?
We will put you on the list. When weather permits and the hot mix plant is running, we will get to it as soon as possible.

Why are we flushing the streets?
This program was developed by DEQ and the City of Sheridan to improve our air quality. The water used is untreated water pumped from Big Goose Creek.

When can you blade and/or gravel our street?
We have to prioritize the streets based on the amount of usage. Please be patient.

Why hasn’t the City resurfaced my street?
The City’s policy is not to resurface a street if the utility lines underground are in bad condition. The City prefers to totally reconstruct the street and utilities. Unfortunately, the majority of the utility lines are in bad condition throughout the City. Currently, the utilities budget does not have sufficient funds to replace the lines. The City is currently developing a five-year capital improvement plan to prioritize the streets for full reconstruction. We are continually evaluating expected revenues and will work through the prioritized list as quickly as possible.

Why is it important not to dump oil or other chemicals down a storm drain?
The storm drains empty directly into Big Goose creek, Little Goose Creek, or Goose Creek without prior treatment. Dumping toxic items into the storm drain or curb and gutter will directly impact the health and the creeks flowing through our community. Help us protect our natural resources by disposing of chemicals and oils responsibly and appropriately.

We ask that you please be patient and understand project setbacks (weather, equipment breakdowns, etc.).  Please watch out for our road crews and give em' a break...
