The
City of Sheridan participates in the National Flood Insurance Program's
(NFIP) Community Rating System. This program provides additional
benefits to federally backed flood insurance policies in exchange for
certain educational and support services offered by the community. For
any questions regarding the NFIP, floodplain maps, elevation
certificates, or ways to reduce the potential for flood damage please
contact the Planning Office at (307) 674-6483 ext. 226.
Elevation
Certificates are required for all building construction or substantial
improvement within a designated flood hazard area. The City of Sheridan
maintains copies of all elevation certificates submitted in conjunction
with a building permit. Elevation certificates are available on
request at City Hall. Please note, elevation certificates now require
