Training and Certification of Operators
Prehire:
  • Perfex Test (test multi-tasking)
  • Interview
  • Background Investigation
  • Mental Health Evaluation & Drug screen
Once hired, the operators are given 14 weeks of on the job training which also includes Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) training.

Two weeks are spent at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy (WLEA) for training:
  • Public Safety Communications Operator Certification: 56 Hours
  • NCIC/WCJIN Operators Certification: 24 hours (Must renew every 2 years).
  • Knowledge of Telephone Device for the Deaf (TDD).
Maintain at least 20 additional hours of Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POPST) every 2 years.
