Where can I get my fire extinguisher serviced?
There are two companies in Sheridan that provide this service: 1) Sheridan Fire Equipment-Service Professional's
LLC 307-751-2118 or 307-752-3681; 2) Western Extinguisher Service & Sales-307-672-7921 or 307-751-3329.

How can I obtain a copy of a fire report?
Come to our office during business hours with the date and location of the fire.  An Information Request Form will be filled out and you will need to sign the form.  There is a minimum charge of $2.00 for up to five pages and 50 cents for each additional page.

Who would I call to get my fireplace inspected?
There are at least three companies in Sheridan that provide this service:  Agray's-307-672-5322; Bob's Super Clean-307-672-6512; Ramsey Enterprises-307-684-7768

Who can I call to sign up for CPR/First Aid Classes?
Sheridan Fire-Rescue offers both classes.  Classes are usually held once a month and you will need to call 674-7244 for dates and times of classes.  We will need to know if you are recertifying, whether you are a new student, or are in the medical field.  There are different levels of classes available.  .

How do I get my child seat checked?
Call 674-7244 and ask for a Car Seat Technician and then a date and time will be set for you to bring in your child so the seat can be inspected and adjusted if necessary.

How do I qualify for a free smoke detector?
Smoke detectors are given to those citizens who qualify as low-income, single parents, senior citizens, disabled citizens, and anyone else who needs assistance.  Come to 151 South Scott Street and fill out a form prior to receiving a smoke detector.  Disabled persons may call 674-7244 and ask for assistance.

Where should smoke detectors be placed?
Smoke detectors shall be installed in accordance with the installation instructions.  Detectors should be placed in each sleeping room and in the common area outside of the sleeping rooms.  At least (1) detector should be placed on every level of the home.

Where should I put my carbon monoxide (CO) detector?
Carbon monoxide detectors shall be installed in accordance with the installation instructions.  CO detectors should be placed in a neutral air space away from corners or dead air spaces and should be audible from sleeping areas.  They should not be placed directly over air vents or fueled appliances.    

How can I acquire a burn permit?
Open burning shall be conducted in accordance with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) requirements by calling 672-6457.  Open burning is allowed in the County as long as the owner calls 674-7244 or 672-2413 the day of the prescribed burn and let us know the name, address, phone number, and what is being burned.  The County Commissioners may impose burn restrictions related to hazardous conditions.  If these restrictions are in place, then any burning will need to be authorized by the Chief of the fire jurisdiction.  For restrictions, please call the County Commissioners at 674-2900.

Does Sheridan Fire-Rescue offer EMT classes?
EMT Classes are usually held once a year within the County.  Please call 674-7244 for further information.

How do I acquire a copy of an emergency medical service patient report?
Come to our office during business hours with the date of service and location of call.  Per HIPAA Rules and Regulations, patient reports will not be released without written authorization from patient themselves.  There is a minimum charge of $2.00 for up to five pages and 50 cents for each additional page.
