Mayor Dave Kinskey, Mayor

City of Sheridan

Mayor Kinskey, who was raised in Sheridan, attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheridan High School. While in school he participated in Boys' State as Governor, Key Club, Varsity Football and the Debate Team as an extemporaneous speaker. Concerned with the dramatic impacts occurring in Wyoming in the late 1970's, he organized a symposium on "The Impact of Economic Growth and Development in Northeast Wyoming" which featured such notable speakers as Governor Stan Hathaway.

Mayor Kinskey attended Harvard University and received a degree in Economics with honors. There he participated in a variety of activities. His continued interest in the West was evident with his senior thesis: "Western Coal Market Structure and Long Term Coal Contracts". His educational path continued at the University of Wyoming where he received a law degree and graduated with honors.

A family man, Mayor Kinskey is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Donna Trott. They are the proud parents of three children: two grown daughters and a son who recently graduated from Sheridan High School. “While he has many qualities, too numerous to list here,” his wife Donna feels, “he has some outstanding and redeeming qualities for which he has earned the description of being a genuine keeper.”
