Spring Forward ... Fall Back
Time for a change to Daylight Saving Time

March 14, 2010: When we change our clocks...
  • Daylight Saving Time begins for most of the United States at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March.

The State of Wyoming distributes various tax revenue based on decennial census population data. Utilizing Fiscal Year 2008 data, on average, municipalities could lose an estimated $823 and counties could lose an estimated $770 in tax revenue annually for each person not counted by the census.

Some Ways Census Data Is Used

• Decision making at all levels of government.
• Drawing federal, state, and local legislative districts.
• Attracting new businesses to state and local areas.
• Distributing over $300 billion in federal funds and even more in state funds.
• Forecasting future transportation needs for all segments of the population.
• Planning for hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and the location of other health services.
• Forecasting future housing needs for all segments of the population.
• Directing funds for services for people in poverty.
• Designing public safety strategies.

.... Census Day is April 1, 2010 ....
